A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to the May 8 UFC card according to Combate as #9 Roxanne Modafferi faces #14 Taila Santos.
Modafferi (25-18-0) has rotated wins and losses throughout her second UFC run, with the latest bout being a loss to Viviane Araujo at UFC On ESPN 20. Modafferi has seen her last seven bouts go the distance and it has been nearly three years since the fighter got a finish. Modafferi has competed 43 times as a pro MMA fighter and 30 of those encounters went the distance.
Santos (17-1-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Molly McCann and Gillian Robertson. Santos has suffered a single defeat as a pro MMA fighter and that came against Mara Romero Borella at UFC Fight Night 144. Santos competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil Episode 2, defeating Estefani Almeida by unanimous decision.
UFC Fight Night takes place on Saturday, May 8 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
