A featherweight division attraction has been added to the May 1 UFC card according to Adjara Sport as Cub Swanson faces Giga Chikadze.
Swanson (27-11-0) enters the bout riding a two fight winning streak, picking up victories over Kron Gracie and Daniel Pineda. Swanson hasn’t been defeated in almost two years, with that last loss coming to Shane Burgos at UFC Fight Night 151. Swanson has suffered 11 losses as a pro MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of submission.
Chikadze (12-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Jamall Emmers, Irwin Rivera and Omar Morales. Chikadze competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 2, Episode 2, suffering a defeat to Austin Springer. Chikadze has competed 14 times as a professional MMA fighter and just five of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night takes place on Saturday, May 1 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
