WHO WILL BE THE WWE CHAMPION AFTER WRESTLEMANIA 37?

By Kendall Jenkins on 3/3/2021 5:24 AM

WrestleMania season is getting closer and closer with every passing month, but there are still major questions that are hanging over the WWE Championship as we get closer to the biggest show of the year.

In truth, the title picture surrounding the most prestigious championship in sports entertaining has never been as muddled as it has been heading into Mania, and there are at least three superstars that could have a credible chance of holding the title going into the biggest show of the year.

Still, the question remains, which superstar will be the one holding the title when the lights go out at Mania this year?

The Miz

The Miz has made a habit of shocking the WWE Universe, and he was once again up to his old tricks at the Elimination Chamber PPV, as he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract after Drew McIntyre had competed in the chamber match.

The A-Lister seized his moment and became a two-time world champion and will be looking to go into the biggest show of the year to defend his newly won title this year.

The Miz famously went into Mania as the champion ten years ago, and he walked out of the show still with the title after The Rock cost John Cena his opportunity.

It would appear unlikely that he will be doing the same thing again this year, as there are growing beliefs that he is just a transitional champion and The Miz will be dropping the gold before the biggest show of the year.

Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley is the heavy favourite to be walking into Mania this year with the championship, as many expect the CEO of the Hurt Business to beat The Miz for the gold before the biggest show of the year.

Lashley has been booked strong over the past couple of weeks, and played his part in Miz winning the championship at the Elimination Chamber PPV, as he beat down McIntyre after the chamber match.

It quickly emerged that Lashley and Miz had a deal for the Hurt Business member to have a title opportunity after the A-Listers win, and judging by how he has been booked recently, he could win the title in the championship match planned on Raw.

However, whether he will walk out of Mania still holding the championship is up for debate. Still, Lashley is deserving of a first world championship win in the WWE.

Drew McIntyre

Like the best foreign players in the NBA (click here), the Scottish Drew McIntyre might become one of the best foreign WWE members of all time. Drew has been growing on popularity and becoming one of the fan favorites.

Certainly, he will be many people’s pick for the contender to walk out of Mania with the championship, as he will certainly return with a newfound aggression.

It remains to be seen how long he will be kept off television, but he will certainly return looking to get his hands on the duo that cost him his championship.

There are rumours that the match between McIntyre and Lashley could be the most likely route for Mania this year, which would make sense given that Lashley was ultimately the star that cost McIntyre his reign and could feasibly be the champion going into the biggest show of the year.

Victory at Mania this year would give the Scot a third championship in the space of 12 months, but it could also see him win back the title in front of fans at the Raymond James Stadium.

Fans have been missing from arenas throughout his reign to this point, which means having the face go over in the main event on the opening night of Mania this year makes complete sense.

Here we have it, the top 3 contenders for WWE Champion after Wrestlemania. Who else would you believe can snatch the title?
