Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm and Julianna Pena were scheduled to collide on May 8, but Ariel Helwani of ESPN reports that Holm has been pulled from the card due an undisclosed injury.
It did not take long for Pena to take advantage of the situation, as she called out two division UFC champion Amanda Nunes a short time after her successful title defense at UFC 259.

It seems that UFC President Dana White could be in agreement with Pena, as he hinted at the fact that she could be next to challenge Nunes for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title.
“Julianna Pena has been texting all of us all night,” White said at the UFC 259 post-fight press conference (via MMA Junkie). “She’s been busy tonight. Yeah, we could do that.”
Nunes may have different plans, as she would like to see Pena face Germaine De Randamie for a second time first, as De Randamie submitted Pena in their first encounter last year.
“Holly is off, so (Julianna) can fight Germaine (de Randamie again),” Nunes said at the UFC 259 post-fight press conference. “I feel like she has to get in the mix again, but we’ll see. … I’m a champ, you know. I’m never going to turn down a fight.”
