By David Tees on 3/8/2021 2:48 PM

A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 257 according to MMA Junkie as Veta Arteaga faces Desiree Yanez.

Arteaga (5-4-0) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak and she hasn’t picked up a win in over two years. Arteaga has previously challenged for the Bellator Women’s Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane at Bellator 220. Arteaga has competed nine times as a pro MMA fighter and six of those bouts went the distance.

Yanez (5-2-0) is making her Bellator debut in this bout and does so having won four of her last five fights. Yanez hasn’t competed in over a year, as her last bout happened at Combate Americas: Tito vs. Alberto in December of 2019. Yanez has earned two of five pro MMA wins by KO/TKO, with another two coming by way of decision.

Bellator 257 takes place on Friday, April 16 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Vadim Nemkov and Phil Davis headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Showtime.
