A bantamweight division attraction has been added to the May 1 UFC card according to MMA Junkie as #12 Merab Dvalishvili faces #13 Cody Stamann.
Dvalishvili (12-4-0) enters the contest riding a five fight winning streak, with those wins coming over Terrion Ware, Brad Katona, Casey Kenney, Gustavo Lopez and John Dodson. Dvalishvili hasn’t been defeated in almost three years, with that last loss coming to Ricky Simon at UFC Fight Night 128. Dvalishvili has seen his last five fights go the distance and it has been over three years since the fighter got a finish.
Stamann (19-3-1) has won two of his last five in the UFC, with those victories coming over the duo of Alejandro Perez and Brian Kelleher. Stamann is competing for the first time in almost a year, as his last fight happened in July of 2020. Stamann has earned 11 of 19 pro MMA wins by decision, with another six coming by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night: Reyes vs. Prochazka takes place on Saturday, May 1 from a location to be announced with Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prichazka headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans haven’t been revealed at this time.
