A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 262 according to C Contreras Legaspi as Christos Giagos faces Joel Alvarez.

Giagos (18-8-0) has won three of five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Mizuto Hirota, Damir Hadzovic and Carlton Minus. Giagos is winless when competing at UFC pay-per-view events, dropping a bout to Drakkar Klose at UFC 241. Giagos has competed 26 times as a professional MMA fighter and 11 of those bouts went the distance.

Alvarez (18-2-0) enters the contest riding a three fight winning streak, earning victories over Danilo Belluardo, Joe Duffy and Alexander Yakovlev. Alvarez has picked up 16 of 18 wins by way of submission, with the rest coming by KO/TKO. Giagos may have 16 wins by submission, but he has yet to be defeated by the same manner.
