REPORT: HARRY HUNSUCKER STEPS IN, FACES TAI TUIVASA AT UFC FIGHT NIGHT 188

By David Tees on 3/18/2021 7:23 AM

Tai Tuivasa needed a new foe for UFC Fight Night 188 after the withdrawal of Don’Tale Mayes and now he has one because MMA Junkie reports that Harry Hunsucker has accepted the short notice opportunity.

Tuivasa (10-3-0) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Stefan Struve at UFC 254. Tuivasa has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came during UFC competition. Tuivasa has competed 12 times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.

Hunsucker (7-3-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and the fighter has won six of his last seven pro MMA fights. Hunsucker competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 4, Episode 8, suffering a first round TKO loss to Jared Vanderaa. Hunsucker has competed 10 times as a pro MMA fighter and none of his bouts have gone past the opening round.

UFC Fight Night 188 takes place on Saturday, March 20 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
