JACKSONVILLE MAYOR LENNY CURRY “PROUD” TO HOST UFC 261 WITH A FULL CROWD

The UFC will hold UFC 261 next month at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida and the arena is expected to be filled to capacity with fans in attendance.

Jackson Mayor Lenny Curry, in a statement to Bloody Elbow, states that he is proud to have Jacksonville host UFC 261 and to have fans in attendance at the event:

“Thanks to the strong leadership of Governor DeSantis and his smart and safe approach throughout COVID-19, Florida is poised to host signature sporting events. The UFC and its president, Dana White, have demonstrated the ability to safely host fans at multiple events that have taken place during the pandemic in Florida, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi. For the thousands of UFC fans who are ready to return to world-class sports entertainment, we are proud to welcome you back to Jacksonville.”

There have been no safety protocols released yet by the UFC for UFC 261, which is scheduled for April 24th.
