A bantamweight division attraction will headline the May 22 UFC card according to ESPN as #3 Rob Font faces #4 Cody Garbrandt.
Font (18-4-0) is headlining his first UFC card, despite having been with the promotion for almost seven years. Font comes into the contest riding a three fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in over two years. Font has competed 22 times as a professional MMA fighter and nine of those bouts went the distance.
Garbrandt (12-3-0) has won just one of his last four, with that lone win coming over Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250. Garbrandt is a former UFC Bantamweight Champion, defeating Dominick Cruz to win the title at UFC 207. Garbrandt has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came in UFC competition.
UFC Fight Night: Font vs. Garbrandt takes place on Saturday, May 22 from a location to be announced with Rob Font and Cody Garbrandt headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
