Govan Wrestling Star Has Eyes Set on World Title

Ravie Davie looks to defy all odds to secure Title opportunity this weekend

GLASGOW, Scot., 16 February, 2022 - A professional wrestler from Govan will compete at Europe’s most unpredictable wrestling event this weekend. David McCallum - known by his ring name Ravie Davie - will enter Insane Championship Wrestling's Square Go, a 30-person elimination match where anything can happen. Similar to the WWE’s Royal Rumble, the winner is granted a World Title opportunity at a time of their choosing. The event takes place on Sunday 20 February at SWG3 in Glasgow.

McCallum made his wrestling debut in 2016 after watching BBC documentary Insane Fight Club, which focused on the lives of ICW professional wrestlers Grado, Jack Jester and current WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre.

Since then, McCallum has become a staple of the ICW roster. Winning Sunday’s match could see him challenge for the World Title as soon as the next event on Sunday 27 February.

“Winning the Square Go Match would mean the world to me.” said McCallum.

“It would mean that all the time, effort and money my late nana put into wrestling when I was growing up was worth it.

“It’s been a tough climb but I’m almost there.”

Among the other 29 opponents who Ravie Davie might find himself across the ring from is former WWE Superstar and heavyweight Big Damo, BBC star Jack Jester, and Andy Wild.

This year’s Square Go will also feature a Triple Threat Match for the Women’s Title, a cruiserweight clash for the Zero-G Championship and tag team action.
