A flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night San Antonio according to Zeca Azevedo as Vinicius Salvador faces Victor Altamirano.
Salvador (14-4-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Salvador competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Shannon Ross by second round TKO. Salvador hasn’t been defeated in over three years, with his last loss coming to Jafel Cavalcante Filho at Shooto Brazil 92 in May of 2019.
Altamirano (11-2-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Daniel Da Silva at UFC 278. Altamirano also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Carlos Candelario by split decision. Altamirano is a former LFA Flyweight Champion, but he relinquished the gold after competing on the Contender Series.
UFC Fight Night San Antonio takes place on Saturday, March 25 from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas with Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
