Kyler Phillips has been pulled from UFC Vegas 71, replacing him against Raphael Assuncao, according to AG Fight, is Davey Grant.
Assuncao (28-9-0) has won just one of his last five under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Victor Henry at UFC Fight Night 212. The victory over Henry ended a four fight losing streak for Assuncao, which was the longest of his pro MMA career. Assuncao has earned 28 wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of those came by decision.
Grant (14-6-0) has won just one of his last three in the UFC, with that single win coming over Louis Smolka at UFC On ESPN 36 in May of 2022. Grant competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 18, but was unable to finish the reality show competition due to injury. Grant has competed a total of 20 times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Vegas 71 is scheduled for Saturday, March 11 from The Theater At Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada with Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
