BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal allegedly attacked former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington outside of a Miami Beach, Florida restaurant in March of 2022.
A hearing took place this past Wednesday and MMA Fighting is reporting that a pre-trial date for Masvidal has been set for May 10 and a trial date has been set for May 22.
Saam Zangeneh, who is the defense attorney for Masvidal, believes that a settlement can be reached between the two sides before the trial date and there would be no need for said trial.
Masvidal, who has been charged with multiple felony charges including aggravated battery and criminal mischief, could be facing up to 15 years in prison if convicted of the aggravated battery charge.
