A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night 220 according to MMA Junkie as Carl Deaton III faces Joe Solecki.
Deaton III (17-5-0-2NC) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Deaton III competed once under the PFL banner, suffering a split decision loss to Alejandro Flores Garcia at PFL 9 in August of 2021. Deaton III has earned 17 wins as a professional MMA fighter and nine of those have come by submission.
Solecki (12-3-0) was originally set to compete tomorrow night at UFC Fight Night 19 against Benoit Saint Denis, but Saint Denis withdrew from the contest and Solecki was moved to next weekend’s card. Solecki has won four of five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Matt Wiman, Austin Hubbard, Jim Miller and Alex Da Silva Coelho. Solecki has seen his last three fights go the distance and it has been over two years since the fighter got a finish.
UFC Fight Night 220 is scheduled for Saturday, February 25 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
