A flyweight division attraction has been added to the UFC Fight Night card on April 22 according to MMA Junkie as Carlos Candelario faces Rafael Estevam.
Candelario (8-3-0) is winless under the UFC banner, having dropped fights to the duo of Tatsuya Taira and Jake Hadley. Candelario also competed twice before on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Ronaldo Candido De Oliveira and suffering a defeat to Victor Altamirano. Candelario enters the contest riding a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year.
Estevam (11-0-0) is making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over seven years. Estevam competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Joao Elias by second round TKO. Estevam has competed 11 times as a professional MMA fighter and four of those encounters went the distance.
UFC Fight Night is scheduled for Saturday, April 22 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
