A heavyweight division attraction has been added to the May 13 UFC Fight Night card according to MMA Fighting as #9 Jairzinho Rozenstruik faces #14 Jailton Almeida.
Rozenstruik (13-4-0) has won two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Augusto Sakai and Chris Daukaus. Rozenstruik has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of those defeats came during UFC competition. Rozenstruik has competed 17 times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those bouts went the distance.
Almeida (18-2-0) is undefeated thus far in the UFC, having defeated Danilo Marques, Parker Porter, Anton Turkalj and Shamil Abdurakhimov. Almeida also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Nasrudin Nasrudinov by second round submission. Almeida hasn’t been beaten in over five years, with that last loss coming to Bruno Assis at Shooto Brazil 80 in January of 2018.
UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Walker is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Anthony Smith and Johnny Walker headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
