A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 288 according to Club De Las MMA as #1 Charles Oliveira faces #4 Beneil Dariush.
Oliveira (33-9-0-1NC) is competing for the first time since losing the UFC Lightweight Title to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280. Oliveira’s last four fights have headlined UFC pay-per-view cards and this will be his first non-main event fight since UFC 256 in December of 2020. Oliveira has earned 33 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 21 of them have come by submission.
Dariush (22-4-1) enters the contest riding an eight fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in over five years. Dariush has seen his last three fights go the distance and it has been over two years since the fighter got a finish. Dariush has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those defeats came by submission.
