The upcoming Bellator Lightweight Grand Prix has taken a hit because MMA Junkie is reporting that Sidney Outlaw has been pulled from the grand prix after testing positive for three different banned substances.
Associate Of Boxing Commissions & Combative Sports (ABC) President Mike Mazzulli informed MMA Junkie that Outlaw submitted an out-of-competition sample during Bellator 290 fight week, with that sample being flagged for the illegal substances known as ostarine, cardarine, and anastrozole. Those three substances are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which is the standard used by the ABC.
Outlaw has now been suspended six months for the failed drug test and has been replaced in the grand prix by former Bellator Lightweight Champion Brent Primus, who now faces Mansour Barnaoui at Bellator 296.
There has been no comment yet from either Outlaw or Bellator.
