A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC 288 according to Igor Melotto as #4 Marina Rodriguez faces #10 Virna Jandiroba.
Rodriguez (16-2-1) has won four of her last seven under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Amanda Ribas, Michelle Waterson, Mackenzie Dern and Xiaonan Yan. Rodriguez has previously headlined two UFC cards, earning a 1-1-0 record in those encounters. Rodriguez has competed 20 times as a professional MMA fighter and 12 of those bouts went the distance.
Jandiroba (18-3-0) has rotated wins and losses in her last five UFC bouts, with her last fight being a win over Angela Hill at UFC On ESPN 36. Jandiroba hasn’t put a winning streak together in almost three years and that last streak lasted for two fights. Jandiroba has picked up 18 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 13 of those have come by submission.
