REPORT: ABU AZAITAR OUT, JOSH FREMD IN AT UFC FIGHT NIGHT 221

Abu Azaitar has been pulled from UFC Fight Night 221, replacing him against Sedriques Dumas is Josh Fremd, which was first reported by Iridium Sports.

Dumas (7-0-0) is making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over two years. Dumas did compete on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Matej Penaz by first round submission. Dumas has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and four of those came by way of KO/TKO.

Fremd (9-4-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, dropping bouts to the duo of Anthony Hernandez and Tresean Gore. Fremd hasn’t won a fight in over a year, with his last win coming against Joel Bauman at Fighting Alliance Championship 12 in February of 2022. Fremd has competed 13 times as a professional MMA fighter and four of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Night 221 is scheduled for  Saturday, March 11 from The Theater At The Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada with Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
