Daniel Rodriguez has been pulled from UFC 286 according to Marcel Dorff, replacing him against Gunnar Nelson is Bryan Barberena.
Nelson (18-5-1) is competing for the first time in a year, as his last fight happened at UFC Fight Night 204 in March of 2022. Nelson has won two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Alex Oliveira and Takashi Sato. Nelson has seen his last three fights go the distance and it has been over four years since the fighter got a finish.
Barberena (18-9-0) has won three of his last five in the UFC, with those wins coming over Darian Weeks, Matt Brown and Robbie Lawler. Barberena has won two of three when competing on UFC pay-per-view cards, earning wins at UFC 198 and UFC 276. Barberena has earned 18 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 11 of those have come by KO/TKO.
