REPORT: JARED GOODEN IN, ABUBAKAR NURMAGOMEDOV OUT AT UFC FIGHT NIGHT 221

Abubakar Nurmagomedov has been pulled from UFC Fight Night 221 for undisclosed reasons, replacing him against Carlston Harris, according to MMA Fighting, is Jared Gooden.

Harris (17-5-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Christian Aguilera and Impa Kasanganay. Harris is competing for the first time in over a year, as his last bout happened at UFC Fight Night 200 in February of 2022. Harris has suffered five losses as a pro MMA fighter, but he has yet to be beaten by way of submission.

Gooden (22-8-0) is starting his second run with the UFC and he does so while on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Gooden won just one of four in his first UFC run, with that lone win coming over Niklas Stolze at UFC On ESPN 28. Gooden will be fighting for the second time in a month, as his just competed at United Fight League 1 in February of 2023.

UFC Fight Night 221 takes place on Saturday, March 11 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
