DANA WHITE WOULDN’T BE SHOCKED IF JON JONES RETIRES AFTER FIGHTING STIPE MIOCIC

UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is expected to make his first title defense against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic later this year.

Dana White says that when the fight does come together, it would pit the greatest UFC fighter of all time against the greatest UFC heavyweight of all time.

“Here’s the thing that makes this so awesome, you have the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time facing the greatest heavyweight of all-time,” White recently told TMZ Sports (transcript via Tristen Critchfield of Sherdog). “It literally doesn’t get any better than that. These are the kinds of fights you dream about making.”

Miocic does hold the record for the most successful UFC Heavyweight Title defenses in a row with three total.

White also wouldn’t be shocked if Jones were to beat Miocic and then retire after the fight.

“I wouldn’t be shocked if he fights Stipe and then retires, and doesn’t fight again,” White said.
