One Championship veteran Iuri Lapicus has passed away at the age of 27 after getting into a motorcycle crash in Italy.
Milano Today reported that Lapicus was in a coma until earlier today, but then tragically passed away way too soon.
One Championship issued the following statement on Lapicus' passing, which was obtained by MMA Junkie:
“The ONE Championship team is heartbroken over the tragic passing of Iuri Lapicus. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones at this difficult time.”
Lapicus went 14-2-0-1NC during his professional MMA career, which included a loss to One Lightweight Champion Christian Lee at One Championship : Inside The Matrix in October of 2020. Lapicus also fought former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez at a no contest at One On TNT 1 in April of 2021.
