REPORT: COREY ANDERSON FACES PHIL DAVIS AT BELLATOR 297

A light heavyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 297 according to ESPN as Corey Anderson faces Phil Davis.

Anderson (16-6-0-1NC) is competing for the first time since losing in the finals of the light heavyweight world grand prix, with that loss coming to Vadim Nemkov. Anderson hasn't won a fight in over a year, with his last win coming over Ryan Bader at Bellator 268 in October of 2021. Anderson has competed a total of 23 times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts have ended by submission.

Davis (24-6-0-1NC) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Yoel Romero and Julius Anglickas. Davis is competing for the first time in over a year, with his last bout happening at Bellator 276 in March of 2022. Davis has earned 24 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 13 of them have come by way of decision.

Bellator 297 takes place on Friday, June 16 from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois with Vadim Nemkov and Yoel Romero headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Showtime.
