[London. 17 April 2023] The eighth HEXAGONE MMA event, scheduled for June 3 at the Béziers Arena, promises to be exceptional in every way. First of all, because of its unique setting, but also and especially because of the fight card.
Six more fights have been added to the which card has already been partially unveiled by the organization and includes fights of very high level.
Already announced is the main event, which pits Dean Garnett against Lucas Corbage for the world featherweight title (-66 kg). Author of the fastest K-O since the creation of the organization (20 seconds), the British fighter will be looking to secure the belt to seal his return at an elite level after more than four years’ absence.
Also notably revealed last week was HEXAGONE MMA's newest addition, the undefeated Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar, who will be taking on Brazilian Wanderson Barcelos for his debut with the organization. "We are looking forward to seeing Mehdi in our league," says Jérôme Pourrut, co-founder of HEXAGONE MMA. "He is one of the most talented lightweights in the country, and his fighting style is particularly spectacular. On top of that, he knows how to draw the fans who follow him. He's a real character."
ANTONY RÉA VS MOHAMED EL DWANSY; LAÏD ZERHOUNI VS MICHAL DOBIAS
For its first event in the south of France, HEXAGONE MMA will also feature local fighters such as Antony Réa, a native of Carcassonne. This icon of mixed martial arts has fought on every continent. At 45 years old, he will want to showcase his immense experience against another veteran, Egyptian Mohamed El Dwansy. Ditto for the Montpellier prospect Laïd Zerhouni, who will also perform in front of his home crowd, against Slovakian grappler Michal Dobias.
JACK CLAFFEY DEBUT
Wrestling fans will be excited by the debut of Jack Claffey (UK) with HEXAGONE MMA for his second professional mixed martial arts bout.
"We have put together a top-level card", says Mathieu Nicourt, matchmaker and sports director of the organization. "In addition to the stars who will headline the event, we have selected the best fighters from the south of France, whether they are already known or at the beginning of their careers."
Between now and June, more names will be announced for what should be one of the highlights of the HEXAGONE MMA’s season.
