REPORT: JAILTON ALMEIDA VS. CURTIS BLAYDES HEADLINES UFC SAO PAULO

A heavyweight division attraction will headline UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo according to MMA Junkie as #4 Curtis Blaydes faces #9 Jailton Almeida.

Blaydes (17-4-0-1NC) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Chris Daukaus and Tom Aspinall. Blaydes hasn’t picked up a win in almost a year, as his last victory came at UFC Fight Night 208 in July of 2022. Blaydes will be headlining his fourth straight UFC card and he has a 2-1-0 record in his past three main event appearances.

Almeida (19-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Parker Porter, Shamil Abdurakhimov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Almeida also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Nasrudin Nasrudinov by second round submission. Almeida hasn’t been defeated in over five years, with his last loss coming to Bruno Assis at Shooto Brazil 80 in January of 2018.

UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo is scheduled for Saturday, November 4 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Curtis Blaydes and Jailton Almeida headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
