Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich will meet for the vacant UFC Interim Heavyweight Title in the co-main event of UFC 295.
UFC President Dana White would like to see the winner of that fight face the winner of the future Jon Jones/Stipe Miocic fight in a title unification fight.
“To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. So whoever wins that fight, it would be nice to see them stick around and defend it,” White said to MMA Junkie. “That we can’t determine until it happens.”
Jones was scheduled to face Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Title in the main event of UFC 295, but Jones suffered a pectoral injury and could be out for eight months or longer.
As far as who could fight the winner of Jones/Miocic, White is having a hard time making a prediction.
“It’s one of those ones where if you know you know,” White said. “It’s a badass fight with two young studs, and that’s going to be a fun one.”
