Khamzat Chimaev scored a unanimous decision victory over former UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman in the co-main event of UFC 294.
Many feared that Khamzat suffered a broken hand during the fight, but a report from ESPN states that the fighter suffered a torn ligament injury in his hand. The report states that Chimaev hopes to avoid any potential surgery and could be out for a month before any potential training can begin.
Chimaev also will be wearing a brace for the month and a further evaluation will be completed once the brace comes off. There is no word at this time as to how Chimaev's injury could impact a potential fight against UFC Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland.
