The UFC will be making their promotional debut in Saudi Arabia in March of 2024 and according to UFC President Dana White, it was the partnership between the UFC and WWE that brought the deal together.
White recently revealed that it was the WWE’s Vince McMahon that helped broker a deal between the UFC and Saudi Arabia.
“It was Vince McMahon,” White told the Sports Business Journal. “It was 100% Vince McMahon.”
While the UFC will be debuting in Saudi Arabia this coming March, the WWE has been running shows in the country for several years now.
One thing White appreciates about McMahon is that McMahon never once kept White or the UFC out of the loop as the Saudi Arabia deal came together.
“He made every call, he didn’t make one move without picking up the phone and calling me and getting me in the loop and seeing if I was cool with this and that. And he went from being, oddly enough, I don’t know why, an enemy (of UFC’s), to being an unbelievable incredible partner,” says White.
