By David Tees on 11/7/2023 10:51 AM

A heavyweight division attraction has been added to the UFC Fight Night card on February 3 according to the Iridium Sports Agency as Jamal Pogues faces Thomas Petersen.

Pogues (10-4-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, having defeated Josh Parisian at UFC Fight Night 219. Pogues competed twice before on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating the duo of Marcos Brigagao and Paulo Renato Jr. Pogues has earned 10 wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of those came by way of submission.

Petersen (8-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Petersen competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Chandler Cole by second round submission during the 2023 season. Petersen has suffered a single defeat as a pro MMA fighter and that came to fellow UFC fighter Waldo Cortes-Acosta at LFA 129.

UFC Fight Night is scheduled for Saturday, February 3 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
