A flyweight division attraction has been added to the January 13 UFC Fight Night card according to Marcel Dorff as #6 Matheus Nicolau faces #8 Manel Kape.
Nicolau (19-3-0) won the first meeting between himself and Kape, with that victory coming by split decision at UFC Fight Night 187 in March of 2021. Nicolau has won three of four since the first meeting with Kape, with those wins coming over Tim Elliott, David Dvorak and Matt Schnell. Nicolau has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of those defeats came by way of KO/TKO.
Kape (19-6-0) has gone undefeated since the loss to Nicolau, defeating the four pack of Ode Osbourne, Zhalgas Zhumagulov, David Dvorak and Felipe Dos Santos. Kape has competed just one time in each of the last two years, making 2021 the last year he competed in multiple MMA fights. Kape has fought a total of 25 times as a professional MMA fighter and just seven of those encounters went the distance.
UFC Fight Night is scheduled for Saturday, January 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
