A rematch will headline the UFC Fight Night card on January 13 according to John Kavanagh as #2 Magomed Ankalaev will again battle #7 Johnny Walker.
Ankalaev (17-1-1-1NC) fought Walker to a no contest at UFC 294 after he accidentally hit Walker with an illegal knee strike in the first round of their fight. Ankalaev hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with his last win coming over Anthony Smith at UFC 277 in July of 2022. Ankalaev previously challenged for the UFC light Heavyweight Title, fighting Jan Blachowicz to a split draw at UFC 282.
Walker (21-7-0-1NC) has won three of his last four in the UFC, with those wins coming against Ion Cutelaba, Paul Craig and Anthony Smith. Walker has previously headlined two UFC cards, going winless in those last two main event appearances for the promotion. Walker has earned 21 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 16 of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night is scheduled for Saturday, January 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
