A light heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 297 as #13 Dominick Reyes faces Carlos Ulberg.
Reyes (12-4-0) enters the contest riding a four fight losing streak and he hasn’t win a fight in over four years. Reyes has twice before challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to both Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz. Reyes is returning to action after a year-plus layoff, as he last competed at UFC 281 in November of 2022.
Ulberg (9-1-0) enters the bout on the strength of a five fight winning streak, picking up victories over Fabio Cherant, Tafon Nchukwi, Nicolae Negumereanu, Ihor Poteria and Da Woon Jung. Ulberg also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Bruno Oliveira by knockout during the 2020 season. Ulberg has competed a total of 10 times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts have gone the distance.
UFC 297 takes place on Saturday, January 20 from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
