While MMA fans may remember UFC 295 for the two new champions crowned at the event, others may remember it for when a comedian’s wife flipped of former US President Donald Trump.
Bill Burr’s wife was caught on video flipping off the former president and Burr says that his wife was simply expressing herself.
“I love my wife. You know where you stand with her,” Burr said on The Rich Eisen Show (transcript via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “The guy walked in the arena, everybody cheered, she gave him the finger, nobody got arrested. That’s why this country’s great. Everybody expressed themselves. Can we all be adults?”
There has been no comment yet from the UFC or the former president at this time.
Burr said he came to watch the fight at UFC 295, and not attend the Republican National Convention.
“I don’t know about you but I came there to go to the fights,” Burr said. “I didn’t know I was going to the Republican National Convention.”
