A lightweight division attraction has been added to the January 13 UFC Fight Night card according to Marcel Dorff as Jim Miller faces Gabriel Benitez.
Miller (36-17-0-1NC) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Erick Gonzalez, Nikolas Motta, Donald Cerrone and Jesse Butler. Miller has earned 36 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 19 of them have come by way of submission. Miller has competed at UFC 100 and UFC 200, so an appearance at UFC 300 in April would make him the only UFC fighter to hold that accomplishment.
Benitez (23-10-0) has won two of his last five in the UFC, with those coming over the duo of Justin Jaynes and Charlie Ontiveros. Benitz will be competing for the first time in over a year, as his last bout happened at UFC On ESPN 41 in August of 2022. Benitez has fought a total of 33 times as a professional MMA fighter and just eight of those encounters went the distance.
UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Walker II is set for Saturday, January 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
