JALIN TURNER REPLACING DAN HOOKER, FACES BOBBY GREEN AT UFC AUSTIN

By David Tees on 11/23/2023 7:44 PM

Bobby Green needed a new opponent after the withdrawal from Dan Hooker from UFC Fight Night Austin and now he has one because UFC President Dana White has revealed that Jalin Turner has accepted the short notice opportunity.

Green (31-14-1-1NC) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson. Green hasn’t been defeated in almost a year, as his last loss came to Drew Dober at UFC Fight Night 216 in December of 2022. Green has earned 31 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 11 of them have come by way of KO/TKO.

Turner (13-7-0) enters the contest on a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker. Turner hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with his last win coming over Brad Riddell at UFC 276 in July of 2022. Turner has competed 20 times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Night Austin is scheduled for Saturday, December 2 from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas with Beneil Dariush and Arman Tsarukyan headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
