Former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson was arrested and booked in jail on May 7 of this year, being charged with allegedly crashing his vehicle into two trucks that were parked outside of a nightclub in Hollywood, California.
MMA Junkie is now reporting that the prosecution and defense for the case has reached a plea deal that will see Ferguson’s misdemeanor DUI charge dropped. Judge Shannon K. Cooley from the Superior Court Of Los Angeles County (California) ruled on the matter earlier this week according to court records obtained by MMA Junkie.
Ferguson did plead nolo contendere to one misdemeanor charge of wet reckless driving on a major highway, which will require the UFC star to serve one year of probation. Terms of the plea deal will see Ferguson pay restitutions to the victims of the crime, while the fighter has also been told he cannot drive after consuming any amount of alcohol.
The UFC star returns to action on December 16 at UFC 296, facing Paddy Pimblett in a lightweight division affair.
