A flyweight division attraction is reportedly a five round co-main event for UFC Fight Night Mexico City according to ESPN Deportes as #1 Brandon Moreno faces #3 Amir Albazi.
Moreno (21-7-2) is competing for the first time since losing the UFC Flyweight Title to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290 in July of this year. Moreno is a former two-time UFC Flyweight Title, defeating Deiveson Figueiredo twice to start both reigns. Moreno is competing on a Fight Night card for the first time in almost four years, with his last appearance coming at UFC Fight Night 170 in January of 2020.
Albazi (17-1-0) is undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Malcolm Gordon, Zhalgas Zhumagulov, Francisco Figueiredo, Alessandro Costa and Kai Kara-France. Albazi has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to UFC veteran Jose Torres at Brave CF 23 in April of 2019. Albazi has earned 17 wins as a professional MMA fighter and nine of them have come by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Mexico City takes place on Saturday, February 24 from a location to be announced in Mexico City, Mexico with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
