A women’s strawweight division attraction was announced earlier today by the UFC for UFC 298 as #3 Tatiana Suarez faces #4 Amanda Lemos.
Suarez (10-0-0) has already earned seven wins in the UFC, with those coming over Amanda Bobby Brundage, Viviane Pereira, Alexa Grasso, Carla Esparza, Nina Nunes, Montana De La Rosa and Jessica Andrade. Suarez was the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23, defeating the aforementioned Brundage in the finals of the reality show. Suarez has competed 10 times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those bouts went the distance.
Lemos (13-3-1) has won two of her last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Michelle Waterson-Gomes and Marina Rodriguez. Lemos has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to Weili Zhang at UFC 292. Lemos has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all three of them came against past/current UFC fighters.
UFC 298 takes place on Saturday, February 17 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
