A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 299 according to MMA Fighting as #6 Lauren Murphy faces #13 Karine Silva.
Murphy (16-6-0) has won just one of her last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Miesha Tate at UFC On ABC 3. Murphy has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 266. Murphy has earned 16 wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
Silva (17-4-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, having defeated Poliana Botelho, Ketlen Souza and Maryna Moroz. Silva also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Qihui Yan by second round submission during the 2021 season. Silva hasn’t been defeated in over four years, with her last loss coming to Dione Silva Barbosa De Lima at Katana Fight 9 in May of 2019.
