Daniel Rodriguez has found himself on the wrong side of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after failing an out of competition drug test on July 28 of this year.
USADA announced today that the fighter accepted a three month suspension, which was reduced from a one year suspension, because Rodriguez was able to prove that the substance in which he tested positive for was tainted. Since the suspension is retroactive from the date of the failure, Rodriguez has already been cleared to return to action by USADA.
The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) had previously suspended Rodriguez for six months for the failed test, but that suspension is no longer valid due to Rodriguez proving the substance was tainted.
