A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 299, which was announced by UFC CEO Dana White, as #5 Petr Yan faces #7 Song Yadong.
Yan (16-5-0) is a former UFC Interim Bantamweight Champion and former UFC Bantamweight Champion, defeating Calvin Kattar and Jose Aldo to win those titles. Yan enters the contest on a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years. Yan has seen his last four fights go the distance and it has been almost three years since the fighter got a finish.
Yadong (20-7-1-1NC) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating Ricky Simon and Chris Gutierrez. Yadong has headlined three straight UFC cards and he went 2-1-0 during those three main event appearances. Yadong is competing on a pay-per-view card for the first time in over two years, with his last such appearance coming at UFC 265.
UFC 299 takes place on Saturday, March 9 from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida with Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera headlining.
