A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC 298 according to the Iridium Sports Agency as Val Woodburn faces Oban Elliott.
Woodburn (7-1-0) is winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Bo Nickal via first round TKO at UFC 290. Woodburn hasn’t won a fight in over a year, with his last win coming over Luis Sergio Melo Jr. at Combat Night Pro: Tallahassee in August of 2022. Woodburn has earned seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of those have come by way of KO/TKO.
Elliott (9-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and he does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Elliott did compete on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Kaik Brito by majority decision during the 2023 season. Elliott has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC 298 takes place on Saturday, February 17 from The Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria headlining.
