The first UFC card of 2024 has taken another hit because James Lynch is reporting that Bassil Hafez is off the January 13 UFC Fight Night card, replacing him against Preston Parsons is Matthew Semelsberger.
Parsons (10-4-0) has won just one of three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Evan Elder at UFC Fight Night 205. Parsons hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, as the aforementioned win over Elder came in April of 2022. Parsons has competed 14 times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.
Semelsberger (11-6-0) enters the contest on a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Jeremiah Wells and Uros Medic. Semelsberger also hasn’t won a bout in over a year, with his last win coming at UFC Fight Night 216 in December of 2022. Semelsberger has earned 11 victories as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Walker II is set for Saturday, January 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Waker headlining.
