A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Mexico City according to Carlos Contreras Legaspi as Yazmin Jauregui faces Sam Hughes.
Jauregui (10-1-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Iasmin Lucindo and Istela Nunes. Jauregui hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, as her last win came at UFC On ESPN 42 in December of 2022. Jauregui is looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came against Denise Gomes at UFC 290.
Hughes (8-5-0) has won three of her last four in the UFC, with those victories coming over the trio of Istela Nunes, Elise Reed and Jaqueline Amorim. Hughes competed just once in 2023, making 2023 her least active year as a professional MMA fighter. Hughes has competed 13 times as a professional MMA fighter and six of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night Mexico City takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico with Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi headlining.
