Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz was set to fight Aleksandar Rakic for a second time next month at UFC 297, but the fighter was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury.
Those injuries were in both shoulders and Blachowicz has recently taken to X to reveal that one shoulder surgery is complete and there is still one more to go:
First shoulder operated on. Unfortunately, there was too much work to do with one, so they couldn't fix both at once. Another surgery soon. I'll have to wait a little longer to come back.

I wish you all Merry Christmas! pic.twitter.com/RDIIxDSBgm
Blachowicz also said the following on Instagram Stories (transcript via Matthew Wells of MMA Junkie):
“Yesterday I had surgery, one shoulder is done. I’m back to life, but – anyway, they need to do this one, but they cannot do this at the same time because it was so much on this one. So, they fixed this one, and we need another surgery for this one. So, it is what it is. It’s going to be a longer break, but what can I do? I have to accept it and come back after full recovery. Happy Christmas to us old men.”
There is no word at this time as to when the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion plans on returning to action.
