By David Tees on 1/3/2024 12:59 PM

Nate Maness has suffered an injury and has been pulled from a bout against Azat Maksum at UFC Fight Night 235, replacing him in that fight, according to MMA Junkie, is Charles Johnson.

Maksum (17-0-0) has already picked up one win in the UFC, which came over Tyson Nam by split decision at UFC On ESPN 49. Maksum is still undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and that streak has lasted nearly seven years. Maksum has earned 17 wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of those wins have come by way of submission.

Johnson (13-6-0) enters the contest on a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Ode Osbourne, Cody Durden and Rafael Estevam. Johnson hasn’t won a bout in just about a year, with his last win coming at UFC Fight Night 217 in January of 2023. Johnson has suffered six losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them have come by way of decision.

UFC Fight Night 235 takes place on Saturday, February 3 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Roman Dolidze and Nassaurdine Imavov headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
