REPORT: YUSAKU KINOSHITA OUT, JOSH QUINLAN IN AT UFC 298

By David Tees on 1/5/2024 5:25 PM

Yusaku Kinoshita has been pulled from UFC 298, replacing him against Danny Barlow, according to Marcel Dorff, is Josh Quinlan.

Barlow (7-0-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over two years. Barlow competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Raheam Forest by first round TKO during the 2023 season. Barlow has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and five of those bouts ended in the opening round.

Quinlan (6-1-0-1NC) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Jason Witt at UFC On ESPN 41. Quinlan previously competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, fighting Logan Urban to a no contest during the 2021 season. Quinlan hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with his last win coming at the aforementioned UFC On ESPN 41 card in August of 2022.

UFC 298 takes place on Saturday, February 17 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
